HI, I’M MAGGIE!

I’m a strength coach specifically for pregnant and post-natal runners

I established RunningMum.ie to help women like you make a strong return to running without common post-natal concerns like leaking, injury and aches and pains.

I have a special interest in pelvic health as it relates to the whole person, their interests, their personal goals and their individual lifestyle factors.

When I first went along to Maggie’s postnatal class I expected there to be a lot of restrictions on what we could do, but it was completely the opposite! 2 months later I am lifting heavier weights than I ever did before and I feel strong and confident in my own ability. I feel in tune with my body and have learned that I can still train hard while respecting the physical changes I am still going through. It’s great to feel like I own my own body again! Maggie is an excellent teacher – her guidance and encouragement are empowering. She knows every single person’s strengths and abilities and helps them to achieve the best they can.

Maggie has been a great support over the past few months. When the restrictions began, I was concerned that I wouldn’t be able to continue my strength training and that my progress would be lost. I was delighted when Maggie began to offer online strength training classes and coaching. It has allowed me to keep working towards my health goals and been essential for my physical and mental health. It’s great to be able to participate in classes from the safety and comfort of my home while having the support of an experienced and knowledgeable coach at the end of the phone. Aside from the live classes, Maggie has a lot of useful resources and pre-recorded classes available that I have worked into my routine. Importantly for me, Maggie also offers 1 on 1 support and guidance. With her help, I have maintained my focus and been challenged to reach my goals in a sustainable way. Maggie has designed her classes so that they can be done with minimal equipment and she takes into consideration injuries or other requirements.

I have been attending Maggie’s strength training classes for more than a year now since my baby was 6 weeks old. Maggie is a highly knowledgeable and approachable coach and I look forward to her classes each week! Classes are relaxed, fun and challenging. I have gained both strength and knowledge thanks to Maggie, and I feel lucky to have her guidance during my postpartum time. For any women, pregnant or postpartum, looking to take up strength training and especially those who want to return safely and confidently to the sport they love, I’d absolutely recommend Maggie.

I really enjoyed the Postnatal Training with Maggie. The class was a great mix of being welcoming, challenging and fun - my baby was 7 weeks old when I started the class and it was a perfect class for returning to fitness. All exercises allowed variations to make them harder or easier so I feel my strength and fitness has been able to continuously improve. It was also very reassuring to have a phone chat with Maggie before the course started to get an idea about what it would include. I probably saw the most benefit from the classes in my day to day life - I had less shoulder/back pain carrying and feeding the baby.
